Let’s Talk About Burnout

Lenovo Conference Series
On the 31st of October 2021, HERA organized a webinar for Lenovo's employees and staff with a focus on raising awareness about burnout in the workplace and how to prevent it. The webinar was thoughtfully structured to deliver valuable insights and support. The event commenced with a session led by a psychologist, who shed light on "what is not burnout?" This session aimed to help participants differentiate between burnout and daily stress or fatigue, enabling them to better identify and address burnout when it occurs. Subsequently, another session titled "Burnout among tech industry employees" followed. During this segment, the prevalence of burnout in the tech industry was emphasized, highlighting that it is a significant and genuine concern affecting a considerable number of professionals in the sector. This information aimed to create awareness and understanding of the seriousness of the issue. To engage the participants actively, an interactive session was conducted, allowing them to take a burnout test. Such self-awareness can be vital in seeking appropriate help and support. Towards the end of the webinar, the focus shifted to providing solutions and resources to combat and prevent burnout in the workplace. Attendees were introduced to various strategies, including promoting work-life balance, encouraging open communication, and fostering a supportive work culture. Moreover, the discussion encompassed stress management techniques and the availability of mental health resources, ensuring that participants had access to practical tools for maintaining their well-being. Overall, the webinar served as a valuable platform to address the pressing issue of burnout, empowering Lenovo's employees, and staff to take proactive steps in safeguarding their mental health and fostering a healthier work environment.
