Vision

We believe that we cannot separate human beings from their environment. HERA’s vision is a style, an approach, a whole manner of living where individuals can interact with their environment without any harm. We envision a world where individuals live in a healthy environment while thinking of future generations through clear policies and action plans.

HERA’s Objectives

● Conduct research on the health effects of toxicants and their burden in collaboration with local and international academic institutions.

● Raise awareness about the effects of pollutants on health among the general population and specific vulnerable groups using suitable and innovative tools in Lebanon and the MENA region.

● Build a network of environmental health professionals from different fields and strengthen their capabilities to advocate for prevention and precautions.

● Present an advisory role whenever needed for local authorities, international organizations, and local and international institutions.

● Support sectors producing pollutants through consultancy, capacity building, and optimization of resources from a human health prevention perspective and sustainable development and growth.

● Address the challenges related to gender equality in the context of occupational and environmental health, suggest sustainable solutions, and empower women through education and capacity building.

● Integrate actions for climate change in each study and project conducted and link it to sustainable development knowing that Lebanon and most of the Developing countries in the region are and will adversely be affected and need to cope with this.

● Promote sustainable healthcare practices that enhance both human well-being and environmental health through innovative initiatives and community engagement.

● Ensure equitable access to quality healthcare services, regardless of socio-economic status, geographic location, or marginalized identities, by advocating for policy reforms, building inclusive healthcare systems, and empowering underserved communities.
